Your employer uses Strawboss to keep health and safety records. This notice tells you what the app collects when you use it.
Who is responsible. Your employer decides what is collected and why. It is responsible for that information under privacy law. Strawboss stores and processes it for your employer. Questions about your information go to your employer first; you can also contact Strawboss (Pragmatic Safety Services Ltd.) at [email protected].
What the app records about you.
- Your name, email, phone number, job title and hire date, entered by your employer. Strawboss does not collect your date of birth, home address, emergency contact or driver's licence.
- Forms, inspections, hazard reports, incident reports and sign-offs you submit, including any photos you attach and the time you submitted them.
- Your location, only when a form asks for it and you allow it.
- Voice recordings, when you use voice entry. The audio is converted to text by a transcription provider and the audio is not stored.
- Training and orientation records, quiz results and typed signatures.
- The device you use: its type, app version and a push-notification token if you turn notifications on.
Injury and health details. If you report an incident, what you write about injuries, first aid and medical attention is stored as part of your employer's safety records and may be seen by the people your employer authorizes.
AI features. Your employer's administrators may use AI tools that read these records to draft reports or answer questions. The text is sent to AI providers to generate a response and is not used to train their models.
Where it is stored. In Canada, with service providers in the United States.
How long. As long as your employer needs the records for its safety program and legal obligations. If your employer removes you from Strawboss, your profile and login are deleted, but safety records you filed are kept with your details unlinked.
Your rights. You can ask your employer for access to or correction of your information. Strawboss will help your employer respond.
